Elan Wurtzel has officially passed the POB Chamber presidential torch to former first vice president Andrew Lamkin. Andrew will lead the dynamic organization for the next four years along with other chamber board officers Marianne Plummer, first vice president; David Weinstein, second vice president; Gary Epstein, treasurer; Andrea Goldman, membership secretary and Jim Baker, recording secretary.
Regarding his new role, Andrew offered, “The Plainview-Old Bethpage Chamber of Commerce is known as one of the premier chambers on Long Island. Our members
give back to the community, are dedicated to philanthropy and look to foster lasting business relationships with each other. I am excited to work with our board to continue the chamber’s involvement with the community and to develop various avenues for both personal and professional growth through workshops and networking events.”
Andrew also expressed his thanks to Elan, whose steadfast leadership has resulted in exponential growth, with membership doubling to nearly 200 businesses since 2014.
In turn Elan extended his congratulations to Andrew as he takes the reins. “Thanks to the support of our board, past and present, and our active membership, the chamber has grown into a vibrant group of business people who work hard to succeed, connect and contribute. It’s been great working with, and getting to know, so many people. I’ve enjoyed contributing in a positive way to our business community and neighborhood. I deeply appreciate all the support that’s been provided to me.”
